Call us to Florence
Besides home of the world’s most delicious gelato and extensive shoe collections, Florence is considered the origin of the Italian renaissance and visiting this marvelous city will allow you a first-hand experience at the original works that helped us to define art as we know it.
A pre-planned itinerary to this city is a must but Travel Outlook has the Florence accommodation under control. You just have to decide which museums to see! Many museums close early or remained closed on specific days of the week. You can save waiting in lines for several hours by booking your museum visits ahead of time. One must-see is the Uffizi gallery, which has a collection of the most unforgettable paintings in the world including all the great works of the Italian renaissance with artists like Botticelli, Titian, Michelangelo, and DaVinci. Of the same genre would be the Galleria del Accademia, Europe’s first school of drawing. Florence is definitely a city of the arts, however if you find that art museums are not your cup of tea, there are several museums, such as the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum, that will strike an absurd chord in any of us. This museum has more than 10,000 shoes dating back from the 1920’s!
Of course we don’t all just like to look at shoes, and the best shoe bargains are never too far away in Florence. Mercato di San Lorenzo offers open air shopping and prices you won’t usually find at such a great travel destination like Florence. If it is upscale shopping that you search, the Via de Tornabuoni will be where you your friends will find you.
Handbags, shoes, and sculptures are not the only things Florence takes pride in. The cathedrals present in this city will evoke an awe of some sort from anyone who finds them. And finding them is not hard, for there are beautiful examples of Italian renaissance (and earlier) architecture on nearly every street corner. From the Piazza del Duomo you can wander to “the Symbol of Florence” at the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Flore, the third largest cathedral in the world, designed by Arnolfo di Cambio at the end of the thirteenth century. The Basilica di San Miniato al Monte will offer you an unsurpassed view of the city or you could climb Giotto’s bell tower, each offering a view of the other, your vista will never lose out in this beautiful city.
Other attractions not to be missed in Florence are the Boboli gardens where there is plenty of sun, shade, and singing birds just behind the Pitti Palace. Palazzo Strozzi is pretty cool as well, reminiscent of “battles” in the fifteenth century between wealthy merchants and nobles to build the most beautiful palace, Palazzo Strozzi is the most significant of these ancient structures.
When it becomes too much to take it all in, either at the end of the day or mid-Renaissance tour walk, Florence offers the traveler and local alike tons of beautiful, quaint street cafés for people watching and, of course, eating gelato. Florence’s hotel accommodation is also beautiful and there are many smaller hotels or motels in Florence that are very close to famous places such as the Piazza della Repubblica. This was the intellectual spot of the early 20th century and Gilli is a world famous indoor/outdoor café in one of Florence’s most beautiful Piazzas. Florence even has a 70s theme club called “Space Electronica.” What more could you ask for?
Well Florence’s hotel scene can be a bit busy at times and that is why Travel Outlook can find you the best hotel at the best price in this ancient city.
